Caretaker Position Available
Camp Artaban Society is currently accepting applications for a full time, year-round, live-in Caretaker. Camp Artaban is a Christian summer camp located in a remote location in Long Bay, Gambier Island in Howe Sound, about a 30-minute watertaxi ride from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver. The camp is primarily in session from April through October of each year.
The successful candidate, along with his/her spouse or family, shares a passion for Christian ministry, recreation, and the outdoors. S/he is a self-starter who is able to maintain both the grounds and buildings and has a general knowledge of most of the following: plumbing, electrical, septic, and water systems. S/he will need to become competent in mechanical systems, groundskeeping, general construction and the general maintenance of all other parts of the camp infrastructure. S/he needs to demonstrate sound judgment and problem solving abilities.
The successful candidate and spouse/family must be well-suited to living in an isolated environment throughout the non-camping season, yet welcome and enjoy the crowds of people who are present during the camping season. A small cottage-like house (with gorgeous view!), along with meals in the summer, a transportation allowance to/from the site, and free high speed Internet access are all in addition to salary.

2. Your experience working with others, especially volunteers;
3. How your work experience has prepared you for this type of position; and,
4. What most attracts you about becoming Camp Artaban's Caretaker.
